STRUXC-MC recently completed an extensive restoration of the Glenview History Center, one of the oldest homes in the Village of Glenview. Built in 1864 by Sarah Hutchings, the farmhouse was home to local families for over a century before becoming the History Center in 1967. The Farmhouse Museum now displays artifacts related to local families, businesses, and the history of Glenview.
Work included foundation and roof repairs, masonry restoration, exterior upgrades, and careful restoration of original wood doors. The front porch was rebuilt with a new foundation, steps, landing, and railings.
Underground infrastructure was upgraded by replacing storm and sewer lines beneath a newly paved asphalt parking lot. To improve accessibility, an ADA-compliant concrete ramp with steel railings was added along with new curbs, sidewalks, and steps. This extensive rehabilitation ensures the farmhouse remains both a historic landmark and a welcoming, accessible place for the community.
